Rheostats & Potentiometers

Here at LPC Components, we manufacture high-quality wire wound resistors designed to restrict or limit a circuit’s current flow. We make a number of both potentiometers and rheostats – find out more about our products below;

Ceramic Wire Wound Potentiometers

Potentiometers, or simply “pots”, are three-terminal, mechanically-operated devices that can be found in a variety of different electrical circuits. Potentiometers enable you to regulate and change the current flowing through a circuit, meaning that they can be used for a variety of different applications, from audio control to the displacement of a particular object.

We manufacture a range of different potentiometers, from slide to rotary, all of which offer accurate and reliable voltage control for all kinds of applications.

Some of our potentiometers include:

  • Steel Enclosure Potentiometers
  • High Power Potentiometers
  • Open Wire Wound Potentiometers
  • Front Board Mounting
  • Back Board Mounting
  • Bench Mounted Units
  • Motorised Potentiometers
  • Double Ganged & Triple Ganged Units
  • Knobs, Dials & Accessories

Rheostats

Rheostats, like potentiometers, are variable resistors used to control the current flowing through a circuit. However, unlike potentiometers, they use two terminals, even when three are present. As rheostats have to carry a very significant current, they are often constructed as wire wound resistors.

We manufacture a variety of rheostats suitable for different commercial applications. Whether you need a rheostat for control, tuning or calibration, our variable rheostats are efficient and up to the task.

Here are some of the types of rheostats we manufacture:

  • High Power Rheostats (Torostats)
  • Open Wound Rheostats
  • Enclosed Rheostats
  • Front Board Mounting
  • Back Board Mounting
  • Bench Mounted Units
  • Motorised Rheostats
  • Double Ganged & Triple Ganged Units
  • Knobs, Dials & Accessories
